The Split 9-Patch Quilting Block
This is a block that should be made scrappy, so you can see the different squares. If you don't make it scrappy, it is just like a half square triangle. That can easily be made another way.
I used simple measurements making this block. Each grid finishes at 2 inches. The block is 6 1/2 inch raw.
It is difficult to get confused on this block, so it makes a good first quilt.
One variation of this block is to make the center grid a solid square.
There are many ways to arrange these blocks. Have some fun with them.
